Industrial Museum Freudenthaler Sensenhammer

The Freudenthaler Sensenhammer industrial museum presents the cultural history of the scythe hammer as a means to understanding human development on a 995-square-metre exhibition space. Visitors are taken on journey through history to a time when the sickle and the scythe were important harvesting tools.

The workers at the scythe factory form the centre of the exhibition.
Six characters – from the rivet heater to the businessman – illustrate the 24 work steps involved in manufacturing a scythe. .
Interactive elements provide authentic insight into the historical production techniques. Visitors can trace the development of the scythe factory with life-size models.
The carefully staged production facilities are largely presented in their original condition.
